At Redefining Chiropractic, we first provide each patient with a thorough evaluation in order to determine the cause of their health complaint. Dr. Sean will then go over these findings with the patient so that they may better understand what is going on and how to proceed with treatment. Each patient will typically receive treatment on the day of their evaluation, but depending on the health factors of the patient and the length of evaluation, the duration of treatment can vary significantly. An array of different approaches and techniques can be utilized to help each patient on their path to better health. One patient may benefit heavily from a single approach, while another person may need a blend of different treatments. Some of these techniques are briefly described below in Dr. Sean’s own words:
Applied Kinesiology (AK)

Using light muscle testing to communicate with a patient’s brain/body and determine what treatment is needed at any given time. The three central factors that are considered in AK are structural, chemical and mental imbalances.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

The use of very light, therapeutic pressure to help alleviate tensions in the body, both obvious and more discrete. This is a great approach for people who are experiencing high pain levels or for an area of past injury that someone doesn't want handled forcefully.
Functional Neurology

Using knowledge of the structure and function of the nervous system to determine what treatment or input may serve a patient best. This can result in two patients with a very similar condition needing significantly different treatments to achieve a positive outcome.
Allergy Elimination Technique

Testing a patient on different substances based on their condition to determine what they may have a known or unknown sensitivity to. The patient is then treated on several acu-pressure points to help reduce or eliminate the sensitivity.
Nutritional Supplementation

Due to the variety of stresses related to day-to-day life, patients can develop imbalances in their body chemistry that don’t always respond to hands on treatment. Addition of the appropriate supplement(s) can help move a patient towards better health, which compliments the hands-on treatment they receive.
Visceral Manipulation

Gentle therapeutic touch over the abdomen and/or chest that aims to correct subtle movement restrictions between neighboring organs. These restrictions can have negative effects on the musculoskeletal system, as well as other health factors such as sleep, digestion, and energy levels.
